What is Oktoberfiesta?
It’s our annual fundraising event when our volunteers, ambassadors, sponsors, and community members come together to socialize, raise money, and enjoy unlimited homemade soft pretzels hot from the Bricks to Bread oven! There are also grilled brats, our signature cheese dip, craft beer and other spirits, dessert, and more!
All for a great cause!
The money raised will directly support our women entrepreneurs in Costa Rica and our local initiatives building global leaders:
- Global Leaders. Our student volunteers often start out as Oktoberfiesta volunteers before building an oven in Costa Rica. They go on to become integral members of our organization.
- Travel Scholarships. A portion of Oktoberfiesta funds are designated for students who wish to volunteer on an oven build trip but are facing financial hardship.
- Internships. We provide high school graduates with unique learning experiences in nonprofit operations, communications, marketing, donor relationships, event planning, and more.
- Volunteer Opportunities. Several times a year, we take young people to Costa Rica to build ovens. They experience cultural immersion working and socializing with in-country volunteers.
